General

Little is known about this roof garden on the Upper East Side in New York City. A brick wall topped with raised beds of shrubs, small trees, and flowers surrounded an outdoor seating area with striking views of such landmarks as the Chrysler and Pan Am buildings. A "country" touch was provided by white picket fencing, while latticework provided support for climbing plants. A notation by Molly Adams on the original negative enclosure suggests that the images may have been taken for publication in the New York Times, although it isn't known whether publication ever took place.
