Scope and Contents

The eleven Shaw Junior High School scrapbooks in this series document a variety of school activities initiated by Thomas in order to involve her students in community service and stimulate their appreciation of the arts through art clubs, lectures, exhibitions, and community events. The scrapbooks have been dismantled and contain letters, notes, clippings, programs with block print covers designed by students, miscellaneous printed material, and scattered photographs of students.
