Collection Citation

Parish Gallery records, 1940-2013. Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution.

Scope and Contents

Norman Parish biographical material includes material related to Norman Parish's art career. With the exception of the awards file and the memorial services, most of the material is related to Parish's life and professional activities from before Parish Gallery. This series includes an early resume, correspondence, material related to the Wall of Respect mural that Parish helped create along with other artists, clippings, and photographs of Parish, his artwork, and a few exhibition installations. There are a few digital photographs of miscellaneous locations and unidentified people, which do no include Parish, that are also included in this series.
