Project Files

Archives of American Art

Object Details

Collection Creator

Packard, Emmy Lou, 1914-1998

Collection Citation

Emmy Lou Packard papers, 1900-1990. Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution.

Scope and Contents note

These files document Packard's commissioned projects and her mural restoration work. Many of the project files contain letters, receipts, notes, artwork, photographs, and printed material. Of particular interest are the files documenting Packard's restoration work with the Coit Tower murals in San Francisco and Anton Refregier's murals at the Rincon Annex Post Office in San Francisco. Several of the mural restoration project files include scattered letters from artists, such as Anton Refregier and Reuben Kadish, photographs of artists, and photographs of the murals prior to and after construction/restoration work.
