Scope and Contents note
There is one diary kept by Daniel Putnam Brinley while he was traveling to Paris in 1918 to work for the American Expeditionary Forces. Also found with the diary are transcripts and summaries of portions of the diary. Three notebooks include essays about his participation in the Foyers du Soldat, about religious art, and a fictional story called "Nightmare." There are additional essays about art and his travels in Canada. Also found are short stories, research notes for his murals, poetry, plays, lecture notes, autobiographical accounts, and miscellaneous notes. One item, "A Trip to Mount Washington," is illustrated.
