This Appalachian dulcimer was made by an unknown maker in the United States, undetermined date. It is a single-bout dulcimer, with a wood nut and bridge to accommodate four strings, 15 metal frets, 2 S-shaped sound holes made of 7 smaller holes and 6 larger individual sound holes, 1 extantwooden friction peg, carved out pegbox for 4 pegs, and a rounded head.
