Postcard produced in the USA. World War I. Front has a color illustration of a grimacing soldier in a hole with a shovel and the caption reads: “ We’ll dig a trench that’ll end in Berlin.” The opposite side has handwritten message by George ("Geo"). Addressed to Mr. Adolph C. Lutz, New York City, New York. Postmarked Upton Branch, Brooklyn, New York.
Message reads: 7/4/18 Dear Adolph, Haven’t had a chance to write; but wrote Claire. Some change. Give my love to Pa, and tell him I am well. Wish I had been at Merritt over the fourth, I would have enjoyed the holiday. Leo
