Horizontal rectangle. Scene of a group of children; a boy and girl seated on turned wooden stools playing checkers while two other girls watch. Their play area is atop a green carpet with blue border. The interior space is divided into two planes: a flat mushroom brown color for the floor and a pale mustard yellow to indicate the walls. The children all have fair complexions and are neatly scrubbed wearing gowns and pinafores, while the boy wears yellow knee breeches, a white shirt with yellow bow, and matching boots. The girl at right carries a doll wearing a red dress.
