Summary
This urine system adapter used on the Apollo 11 mission allowed astronauts to drain their urine collection transfer assemblies (UTCA) after use during launch or spacewalks. Each end of the adapter has a quick disconnect fitting, the large end to connect to the collection device and the small end to connnect to the urine hose attachment of the spacecraft. This allowed, with the activation of a drain valve, for urine to exit the UCTA and vent into space.
NASA tranferred this adapter to the Museum with other Apollo 11 equipment in 1970.
