The colorful and decorated accordion appears on the list of objects transferred from the Dead Letter Office to the Smithsonian Institution in 1911. No additional information is available – no names, addresses, signs of postage, or outer wrappings – thus the reason the musical instrument could not be delivered remains a mystery.
