Description

This Beautification of America Issue stamp was issued to publicize President Lyndon Johnson’s “Plant for a More Beautiful America” campaign. The campaign was inspired by First Lady Lady Bird Johnson’s conservation and beautification efforts. The stamp features an image of the Jefferson Memorial, the Tidal Basin and cherry blossoms in Washington, DC.
