Description
This John Muir Issue features a portrait of John Muir, Scottish-American naturalist and conservationist, and an image of a man standing in a forest of Redwood trees. He founded the Sierra Club, the oldest and largest environmental organizations in the United States. Muir was interested in botanical and geological studies; an Alaskan glacier Muir discovered in 1879 is named after him.
