Description

Cover to Japan cancelled November 29, 1941, Norton, Connecticut, just 9 days before Pearl Harbor (December 7, 1941). Handstamped in red "Returned to Sender, Service Suspended". Label affixed to reverse "Examined by 1692". Collectors note: "Addressed to Mrs. Renzo Sawada, the wife of the former Japanese Consul General in New York and later Ambassador to France"
