Description
This American Woman Issue stamp pays tribute to American women and their accomplishments in civic affairs, education, arts and industry. The stamp features an image of a mother and daughter in front of an open book. A building and gavel symbolizes women’s participation in civic affairs such as government or judicial organizations. A mortar board, books and diploma symbolizes women’s participation in education and academia. A caduceus, microscope, violin and mask of drama symbolized women’s participation in the arts, such as entertainment and music, and industries, such as medicine and scientific research.
