Description (Brief)

White short sleeve, middie style basketball shirt with brown trim at the collar and sleeves. This was part of a basketball uniform worn by the donor's mother, Dorothy Eda Hehnke, while attending high school in Nebraska from 1922-1924. Dorothy was so thin her team nickname was "Slats" and her mother attached suspenders to the bloomers so they would not fall down during games. Girls basketball was outlawed in Nebraska in 1926 and was not reinstated until the 1970s.
