    Description

The Postal Service issued the 39-cent Favorite Children's Book Animals stamps in eight designs on January 10, 2006, in Findlay, Ohio, and London, England. Derry Noye of, Washington designed the stamps, DC. The stamps were issued in a pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) pane of sixteen.
This stamp pane honors eight cherished characters from children's literature: The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Wilbur, Fox in Socks, Maisy, Wild Thing, Curious George, Olivia, and Frederick.
These lively and colorful stamps attract children and adults alike. The Royal Mail in London, England also issued two of the stamps -- The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Maisy. Sennett Security Products manufactured 192 million gravure stamps.
