Description
An Olympic gold medal with attached ribbon. The medal is molded with figures in relief on the obverse and etched on the reverse. The obverse side is set slightly off center in a larger gold disc and features a seated woman, representing Lady Victory, dressed in a flowing robe and holding a palm frond in her left hand and a winner's crown of leaves above her head. To her left the words [XXV / OLIMPIADA / BARCELONA / 1992] appear in relief. The five interlocking Olympic rings appear below the words. The reverse features an abstract engraved human figure, composed of a dot and two slightly curved lines, above the 5 interlocking Olympic Rings. The design is engraved in the larger gold disc, which tapers slightly at the bottom edge. The red, green, black, yellow, and blue striped ribbon is tied at the top and embedded in the disc.
