    One (1) miliaresion coin, John I Tzimisces
    Byzantine Empire, 969 - 976
    Obverse Image: Cross crosslet on a globus above two steps; at the center there is a circular medallion containing a portrait bust of John I wearing a short beard, crown and loros, dividing the inscription I / W / -- A / N; all surrounded in a triple border ornamented with eight equally spaced globules. Face has been significantly worn and coin is pierced, most probably to be worn as jewelry.
    Obverse Text: IhSUS / XRISTUS / NICA
    Reverse Image: Five lines of text with cross comprised of five pellets above and beneath; all surrounded by a triple border with eight equally spaced globules ornamenting it. Face has been significantly worn and coin is pierced, most probably to be worn as jewelry.
