The Smithsonian Craft2Wear Show, the area’s premier show and sale of contemporary wearable art, will take place Sept. 27–29 with 93 participating artists from across the U.S.

The show’s theme is “Artful Attire,” and it will feature hand-crafted jewelry, accessories and clothing in a wide range of prices. Serious collectors and casual shoppers alike can experiment with trending fashions, materials and fabrications to recreate and invigorate their wardrobes or acquire unique gifts. Tickets are available for purchase in advance online and at the door.

Smithsonian Craft2Wear will take place at the National Building Museum at 401 F St. N.W. in Washington, D.C., across from the Judiciary Square Metro stop. “First Night–First Dibs,” Friday, Sept. 27, 5–8 p.m. will offer partygoers the opportunity to choose from the widest selection of wearable art to purchase while enjoying light refreshments, wine, beer or soft drinks and informal modeling. First Night–First Dibs tickets must be purchased online in advance for $95 each. General admission on Saturday, Sept. 28, 10 a.m.–5 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 29, 10 a.m.–4 p.m. is $20 at the door or in advance online. Discounted tickets for students (with ID) or groups of 10 or more are $10 each.

A special highlight of the show will be an exhibition of 10 recognized outstanding South Korean artisans and displays of their works in ceramics, metal, folk painting, fiber and court dress.   The Smithsonian Women’s Committee is hosting the exhibition with the Korean Heritage Foundation.
