Civil War-era Album

This Civil-war era photo album of American political and military figures was owned by Karl Schenk, president of Switzerland in 1865 and is part of the photo exhibition to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Civil War, “Experience Civil War Photography: From the Home Front to the Battlefront,” on display in the Smithsonian Castle in Washington, D.C. beginning Aug. 1, 2012.
