U.S. Customs Service: The War Against Drugs
December 18, 1987 – September 15, 1989
Through photographs, films, and aircraft models, the exhibition illustrates the complex technology used in tracking smugglers of illegal drugs. The U.S. Customs Service estimates that 80% of illegal drugs smuggled into the U.S. arrive by air. The Service's Office of Aviation Operations uses a variety of aircraft, techniques, and electronic devices to intercept airplanes carrying contraband.
