Specimens collected by Spencer Fullerton Baird; his collecting kit, pen knife, and traveling ink well; manuscripts; and photographs reveal his accomplishments as a naturalist and as the second Secretary of the Smithsonian. On view to commemorate the100th anniversary of his election as Secretary.

A statue of Baird by Leonard Baskin is on view in the Haupt Garden outside the west entrance to the Arts & Industries Building.
