This exhibition examines the many kinds of American Indian art: basketry, painting, sculpture, beadwork, and textile-weaving, with some 130 objects dating from the late 19th century to the present.
Organized by the U.S. Dept. of the Interior and the Institute of American Indian Arts (a federal agency) from their collections. Works from artists and craftsmen of many tribes throughout the U.S. are featured. The exhibition has been traveling since 1976.
