The exhibition examines the relationship of poetry and the poetic image to objects made by artist-craftsmen. Many of the 60 three-dimensional objects incorporate words or lines of poetry in or on their surfaces, or are accompanied by poetry that corresponds to the object. Of these, 7 were created by four poet-craftsmen teams at the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, Maine.

The exhibitiob is part of a city-wide festival of poetry and its relation to the visual arts.
