An outdoor area with a moated island and areas for interpretive exhibits, Monkey Island is the home for a small colony of Barbary macaques (monkeys of Gibraltar and North Africa). Special features include a 25-foot landscaped rock mountain with cascading waterfall. A holding area beneath the island provides shelter for the monkeys and allows keepers to give them day-to-day care. Above the exhibition is a 360-degree viewing area for Zoo visitors.
