On view is a selection of herbals, the scientific illustrations that have helped taxonomists clarify their work. The 12 books and illustrations—created between the 15th and 17th centuries—include some of the most treasured volumes on the history of botany and are displayed alongside the writings of Linnaeus.
They are from the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation in Pittsburgh, the Smithsonian's Dibner Library, and the Dumbarton Oaks Library.
