On view are 231 works by 148 artists in an exhibition which traces the growth of ceramics as an art form from its traditional art pottery roots to more recent pioneering personal statements in clay.

Among artists represented are Robert Arneson, Paul Bogatay, Kathryn and F. Carlton Ball, Val Cushing, Richard DeVore, Karen Karnes, Marilyn Levine, Maria Martinez, Mary Louis McLaughlin, Otto and Gertrude Natzler, George Ohr, Mary Chase Perry, Kenneth Price, Adelaide Alsop Robineau, Kataro Shirayamandani, Louis Comfort Tiffany, Artus Van Briggle and Peter Voulkos.
