View 75 wildlife miniatures by Jonas (1894-1971), who was one of the nation's foremost animal sculptors and taxidermists. Organized by the Indiana State Museum, the exhibit honors Jonas and emphasizes his importance as both an artist and a natural historian. Works of taxidermy and sculpture created by him during his long career can be seen today in 45 museums. His work is permanently represented at MNH by the tiger (near the Museum Shop) and by Uncle Beazley (the fiberglass Triceratops on the Mall), which was cast from a huge clay sculpture he created.
